How many clubs are back in full training?? Suppose most teams are running in the muck and sxxxe, the clubs with flood lights on their pitch will have some advantage in terms of hurling

Astro pitches are the way to go at this time of the year, although a bit of the aul' muck and sxxxe does help to build stamina. The beauty of the astroturf pitches is that you can play hurling on them, and it'll be something approaching the dry sod in June (we hope)

I'd say there are a lot of fitness tests being undertaken around the country at this time of year.....A lot of spuds being reunited with the earth....A lot of older/fat guys getting lapped....A lot of lads who think they're fit going flat out at the start only to turn up in a heap ten mins later....A lot of stiff bodies waking up the morning after....More selectors than players at the trainings....But all in all, they're enjoying themselves....

Six words that bring the 'well wintered' lads out in a cold sweat.
"Right lads, tonight's the Beep Test'

worst thing is, we're back training in Wexford for the last month or 2, and now they have announced the first round of the championship is late June. whats the point? glad to be back playing, but will end up just getting fed up of it all after a few months of nothing
