Can you name the Irish soccer internationals who have played for Spanish clubs?
I don't know all the answers myself.
Kevin Moran, Ashley Grimes, Michael Robinson, John Aldridge are some of them anyway.

Ian Harte was at Levante for a few years there.
Hard to name many who've played on the continent.
Italy
Liam Brady (Juve, Inter, Sampdoria, Ascoli)
Robbie Keane (Inter)
Ronnie O'Brien (Juve)
France
Tony Cascarino (Marseille, Nancy)
Holland
David Connolly (Feyenoord)
For the life of me, I can't remember, but I'm sure a current LOI player has also played in Sweden.

I'm pretty sure that was Jason Byrne Micko. Needless to say, he didn't last long. For the life of me, I can't remember, but I'm sure a current LOI player has also played in Sweden. |

Was it Kevin Moran that played for Le Harve?
I think John O Shea spent some time on loan with a Belgian team.

John Byrne played for Le Havre. Kevin Moran played for Sporting Gijon, I think.
I seem to remember a Shamrock Rovers striker from the 80s playing in Spain for Real Santander. It was either Alan Campbell or Liam Buckley. Whichever one it wasn't went to play in Belgium. Not sure if they were Irish internationals though.

That's right. Neuchatel Xamax they were called.
Mickey Walsh played for Porto I think? Maybe another Porteugese club too.
Any more thoughts on Spanish clubs particularly. I think when I heard the question asked there might have been seven players who played in Spain.

That transfer never went through. Djurgardens bid something in the region of 400,000 for him but Shels turned it down only to accept 75,000 a year later when the s**t hit the fan. Getting back to the thread Mick McCarthy had a spell with Lyon playing 10 games. |

I think Phil Babb played for Sporting Lisbon for a couple of years, as did Alan Mahon.
Dominic Foley is currently playing for someone in the Belgian League.
