Best 1. Thurlas 2. Cork 3. Kilkenny Worst (that I've been to, ie. never been to Ennis for a match) 1. Waterford 2. Tullamore 3. Portlaoise As a matter of interest Lockes, what didn't you like about Tullamore? Was it before or after the new stand that you were there? No, and I've seen the stand on the telly and it looks good. It's just not in the best part of Tullamore from what I can recall, though you could say that about other county grounds too (Wexford Pk and Walsh Park IMO). Dunno why, just didn't like it. It was crying out for a facelift which it's got so maybe it's improved.

It's improved a bit alright. The pitch was always A1 there, and the new stand is a big help. They could do with tidying up behind the goals though. re. the area, it's not a bad area really. It's right beside the county hospital, which is handy for some of our club games The main problem as a venue going to a game there is parking out near the ground, and the fact that it's a bit of a stroll from the town centre.

For a great atmosphere it is hard to match Clones on Ulster Final day. The traffic after the match can be pretty bad, but the walk up the hill to St. Tiernach's Park is special.

Thurles no question, the heirarchy should have turned it into a state of the art stadium long ago and use it exclusively for the games of the Gael's they could keep renting the one in Dublin as its proving to be a nice little money earner.Of course we'll have to relocate the town as it would be a bit of an eye sore coming into our Mecca.

I like Thurles and the proximity of the ground to the centre. Kilkenny is similar, and best thing is Wexford have played a few saturday evening games in KK recently and its really a great place on a nice summers evening.

Tullamore is grand- Was in it last year at Longford Laois, the new stand was great. There is an unfinished look about the place though with the bank.
Love Pairc Sean MacDiarmada in Carrick on Shannon, a lovely new stand there as well.

it's a bit of a stroll from the town centre. Jaysus AZ, it's not that far. It's less than the length of O'Connell Street surely. Might be a bit far from the train station alright. The new stand looks good, and the grassy knolls are no more. I always felt they could do with some sort of terrace behind the goals at the Arden road end. Matches never felt fully enclosed to me in O'Connor Park. Personally, I like Navan. It's nice to be able to sit on the grass on a fine sunny afternoon watching a game of football/hurling.

It's far enough from the likes of the High Street House, or The Bridge Centre, or even O'Connor Square. Especially of a wet sunday with a bellyfull of porter in ya. Didn't realise the Hill was no more. I used to love that place. Haven't been to a game there yet this year, shamefully.

Thurles is the best. Also the best hurling pitch. Thurles. Best pitch. Always a great atmosphere down the town and traffic moves well afterwards

Thurles is alright but I don't like the locals around there. Got abuse off them a few times and they all look like knackers. Cork or the Gaelic grounds for me. Thomond is class for the rugby matches.

Thurles is tops for pre match buzz but around Croke Park is the best for the post match buzz.
Limericks not too bad but the Davin closing will be a big loss.
Cork is alright but too spread out.
Killarney is pretty good but a nightmare to get in and out of match days

Enjoyed Pearse Stadium a few years ago. Good spot. Thurles is best by far though
