In the last few years I have started to see and hear more and more about the GAA's quitest son - handball. Our local club has seen a savage increase in the amount of young lads and ladies playing. In fact we are now seeing kids from neighbouring parishes who don't have an alley coming in and playing .. .all good news for the sport of course. I am wondering is this a genarel thing all over i.e. is the sport making a silent comback in Clare/elsewhere. Back in my day eveyone played it just as you would hurling but it went very quiet there for a long time.

Facilities, showers etc were very poor around the country, and it didn't help handball being mostly a winter sport. There has been a push by the handball board and a revival is happening.
One wall handball is becoming more popular. Huge in North America. Every GAA club and school should be able to easily convert an available wall to a one wall court. It's a great game.
