I haven't been to any of these internationals since they started but I have heard people say that the atmosphere in the smaller Lansdowne is better and that Croke Park because of its size struggles with atmosphere for these internationals.
Has anyone here been there and what do you reckon?

I have recently heard two rugby fans of the "Munster Bandwagon" variety looking forward to the time, when rugby internationals return to Lansdowne Road or the "southside" as one of them put it. I am sure that the "soccer heads" are equally uncomfortable in Croke Park. Like a lot of GAA people, I also look forward to the day that they leave Croke Park.

Was at the Scotland match a couple of weekends ago and the atmosphere was woeful. Fair enough the game wasn't much to shout about. The only time I was at Landsdowne for a rugby game (South Africa a couple of years back) it was exactly the same, you could talk in whispers and still hear everything. In fairness, the soccer game against Germany last autumn in Croke Park generated a better atmosphere than either rugby game I went to.

Pah, atmosphere is that the new thing. People don't seem to want to get out of bed these days unless there's a good atmosphere in the shower. Games are meant for watching, not for yahooing and roaring like some common mucksavage.

The atmosphere for the rugby is terrible because it's a reflection of the on-field performances. If the players stepped it up a gear, the atmosphere would be enlivened.
